Track Workouts
The
track workout is our main event and it happens every Tuesday evening.
The goal of track workouts is to increase strength, endurance, and
speed. The sessions last for about an hour. NOVA provides the coach,
who provides and oversees the workouts, advises on running forms,
etc. We get, on average, about 20 to 50 people per workout. Conducted
at Wakefield High School. The track is located at
the back of the school. (click

After
the workout session we all go to Generous George's for Pizza &
Beer!
Tempo
Runs at Bluemont Park
Every
Thursday at Bluemont Park (click
for map)
This is a 6-mile run, but distance has been known to vary.
Runners go at a variety of running paces, providing most people with
a running partner or partners
From
Spring to end of Summer Run Start at 6:30pm.
From Fall to end of Winter Run Start at 6:00pm.
Long
Weekend Runs
The
PR organizes the Saturday morning long runs. It attracts about 30
to 100 people, generally including all skill levels.
Whereas
this is not an official Nova activity the workouts do provide our
members with the opportunity to run with an energetic bunch of folks.
Philip Davis organizes this and a series of other runs in the DC area.

lack of interest.
Express your interest and pick a site while at Generous George's to
assure scheduling that week.

NOVA 5K Summer Series at Bluemont

The
purpose of this competition is to:
a.
expand the membership participation at Bluemont on Thursday’s
tempo runs
b.
increase Club visibility within the running community
c. create internal competition and camaraderie
d. have fun
