Hart
Mike is originally from Charleston, South Carolina, moved to the Washington DC area in February 1989 and has been a member of Nova ever since.
He held the position of NOVA RC Treasurer the past two years and served as the NOVA RC President in 1994 and 1995. He currently works as a financial analyst in the Department of the Navy.
Mike started running at the age of 25 at the request of some friends who had entered a local race and has been hooked on competitive running ever since.
He has been in the top 10 of the VA/DC/MD 50 - 54 age group category since turning 50 and has run some of the fastest times in his age group the past couple of years. In 2006, Mike had the best 10 mile time (59:28), the best 12K time (45:05), the best 25K time (01:33:02) and the best 20 mile time (02:10:56) in the Washington Running Report 50-54 age group category.
Competing in the Grand Masters Division (over 50) in the 2006 Cooper River Bridge Run Grand Masters Category, he finished 2nd overall in the 50 and over age group category, running a respectable time of 37:20 on a hilly/windy 10K course.
He is married to a running partner and Nova officer Andresa Hart, has 2 stepdaughters, 2 cats (on long term loan) and a host of 2-4 legged critters that his wife feeds on a daily basis.
